The original Karma Sutra
positions were from an illustrated text on love, written by Vatsyayana. It was
written in the first few hundred years after Christ was born.
Written in India, the seven parts are written by seven different authors
with many illustrations. There are parts about love, getting a wife, conduct for a
wife, and attracting other people.
The Karma Sutra Positions
Illustrations and text are
given with guidance on how to
conduct ourselves with others and be proper and polite. 3 versions
exist of the Karma Sutra, one from the
1880s, one from 1970s, and one from 2002. The early translation
isn't as graphic because it was written in Victorian times.
History of the Karma Sutra Positions
These Karma Sutra positions are not the
original boring illustrations. While the Karma Sutra was the most important
piece of literature, in any culture, about sexuality, this new site is
much more about the sexiness. The
"Rules of Love" talks about sutras, which are the verses of the
text, and verses are easy to memorize for people to tell each other
about. It's hard to imagine anyone memorizing all thirty five
chapters, but it's fun to memorize parts of it if you know Indian.
Hot to flirt, how to seduce, and all about kissing - these are fun
ideas. It's not flowery, rather, it's very easy to read.
Think of the Karma Sutra positions as history and
anthropology. The illustrations are almost 1500 years old and loses a lot in
translation, but is still interesting reading. The pictures in the
original are pretty boring, so we've tried to spice them up by using young
college girls. We've taken pretty loose interpretations of the
postures to make it easy and fun and sexy. After all, the Karma
Sutra was all about equal rights for women, at least in the bedroom.
Biting is fine, also is doing "it" alone, and arousing a partner
who's frigid. What's not to love? I've always disliked the
actual Karma Sutra drawings because they're so boring, really - you can't understand
what anyone is doing, and they're not good looking subjects in the
illustrations. It's a
very old book, after all, and wasn't written to be sexy originally (unlike
this website).
The Karma Sutra is a very step by step
kind of manual and very forthright, so in some ways the original isn't
sexy at all. You need a bit of mystique to make things really hot,
which is why all the Karma Sutra
positions that are here have their clothes on, and
are not posed for the camera. Nice, eh? You'll love this site,
so feel free to really check it out thoroughly. In the name of
research, of course.
